The increasing demand for stretch wrap films to bundle, transport and store packaging goods require an extensive knowledge of the relationships between the microstructure and macroscopic properties of stretch films. The interfacial interactions between films of ethylene/a-olefin copolymers on different length scales have been investigated with fracture mechanics methods to understand the influence of the film bulk and surface condition before, during and after stretching on type and scale of ad…

Aprašymas

The increasing demand for stretch wrap films to bundle, transport and store packaging goods require an extensive knowledge of the relationships between the microstructure and macroscopic properties of stretch films. The interfacial interactions between films of ethylene/a-olefin copolymers on different length scales have been investigated with fracture mechanics methods to understand the influence of the film bulk and surface condition before, during and after stretching on type and scale of adhesion. The results of application-oriented experiments and the traction-separation behavior from in situ peel tests are presented and may contribute to optimized material compositions and structure as well as targeted processing and improvements of stretch film testing.
